Proposal 1 : Hello Malaysia , Tell Me Your Story.

Research Topic

History plays a crucial role in the understanding of the history and current socioeconomics. Malaysia is a country which has been colonized by several nations from the west. From the beginning of colonization, Malaysia began to change from a backward country to a country that is rapidly developing as it is now. Colonialism and war indirectly play a role in development. Industrial development is more rapid impact on the building history of the old building.

Background

When the British invaded Malaya, various changes in the industry, buildings, political and social. Malaysia continued to grow with the building of more advanced and succeeded in producing his own brand of Proton cars. Through religions, it has been wide spread from all over the countries with so many beliefs and culture. Beside, the project will show the current and past state of Malaysia.

Problem Identification

A new media exhibit designed to push the boundaries of digital identity. This piece was created with projection mapping techniques together with illustration and Malaysia history, using software developed as part of a larger research project. It will be project on a selected building in Malaysia which will be present in prorotype of architectural size. Projection mapping has come a long way in a relatively small period of time. It stimulates the senses, breaks the convention of typical displays, and frees video from expensive screens and places them on everyday objects.

Aim and Objectives

• Educate audience about Malaysia history
• Express my thoughts and opinion upon Malaysia through aesthetics (perspective of teenager)
• Encourage young generation to explore about their own roots.

Motivation

Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin announced that all Malaysian student in 2013 has to pass History subject in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia. It is quite sad for we as Malaysian feel no proud to understand and learn about our own country. No offence, History subject is quite difficult for certain people. Younger generations nowadays choose not to vote because of too many political issues. I take these challenges to visualize my own opinion through illustration and videos.
